Everything we repair

Residential repair specialists.

Emergency repair is what we're known for. It isn’t all we do — the same technicians handle opener repair, cable and track work, routine maintenance and, when a door has genuinely reached the end, full installation. Homes, not warehouses.

The NorthLine promise

You approve the price
before we touch anything.

Garage door repair has a reputation, and it’s earned. Repair comes first here. Most doors we’re called out to can be repaired for a fraction of what a replacement costs, and when that’s true we’ll say so. We install too — but you’ll be told plainly which one you’re looking at, and why. Here’s exactly how we work, every single job.

  • Written estimate before any work beginsYou see the number in writing, not after the fact.
  • We explain the problem before we repair itYou'll be shown the failed part and told why it failed.
  • Nothing starts without your approvalYou decide. If you want a second opinion, take one.
  • No surprise chargesThe price you approve is the price you pay.
  • Honest recommendationsIf a repair will do, we won't sell you a replacement.
  • Warranty terms in writingSet out on your estimate before you approve anything, not after.

Questions

Straight answers.

How fast can you get here?
Same-day service when available across Queens and Nassau. Trapped vehicles and doors that won't close are treated as priority calls because they're safety and security issues.
What will it cost?
It depends on the door, the parts and what's actually failed — which is why we don't quote blind over the phone. A technician diagnoses on site, shows you the problem, and hands you a written estimate. Nothing starts until you approve it, and the price you approve is the price you pay.
Do you charge for the estimate?
We diagnose on site and put the price in writing before any work begins, so you always know the number before you commit. Call and we'll tell you exactly what to expect before anyone comes out.
Are you licensed and insured?
NorthLine Garage Doors is a licensed and insured company. Where a job is fulfilled by an independent service provider, that provider's credentials and the warranty terms for your job are available to you in writing before work begins — just ask, at any point.
Is this repairable, or is it beyond saving?
Almost always repairable. Springs, cables, rollers, tracks, sensors and openers are all serviceable parts, and replacing the failed one costs a fraction of replacing a door. That's the recommendation you'll get whenever it's the honest one. If a door genuinely can't be made safe again we'll show you why — and we install replacements ourselves, so you can have it handled by the same people either way.
Do you install new garage doors as well?
Yes. Repair is our main work and usually the cheaper answer, so it's what we'll recommend whenever it will hold. When a door is genuinely past saving — rusted sections, repeated panel failures, an opening that's been damaged — we supply and install the replacement too, quoted in writing the same way.
Which openers do you work on?
LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Genie, plus most other major brands. Logic boards, gears, sensors, remotes and keypads are repaired on site wherever possible.
Do you offer garage door maintenance?
Yes. A tune-up covers spring tension, cable condition, roller and track wear, opener force settings and sensor alignment, finishing with a multi-point safety inspection. It's the cheapest way to avoid the emergency call — most broken springs give warning signs months ahead.
What if it breaks again?
Warranty terms for parts and labour are set out in writing on your estimate and invoice before you approve the work, so you know what's covered and for how long. If something isn't right afterwards, call us and we'll take it up with the provider who carried out the job.
